What Our Customers Say
Q: Is my loft space suitable for conversion?
A: Most spaces are easily converted. Have a quick look around the loft - take care not to walk in between the joists. For an ideal room, you need a minimum of 2.4m headroom at the apex.
Q: My loft doesn't have 2.2m headroom - is a conversion out of the question?
A: Not at all. Even if you have less than 2.4m headroom, a loft conversion may still be possible. Leave the creative designing to the Loft Wizard team.
Q: What kind of windows can I have?
A: A range of window designs are available to suit all room layouts. On our initial visit, our surveyor will recommend the most appropriate design for your scheme. A full range of roller, black-out and Venetian blinds are also available in a choice of colours.
Q: How long will the work take?
A: Once work starts, most lofts can be completed in less than 3 weeks. We will do out utmost to minimise any disruption and our team will be dedicated to your conversion until completion.
Q: Do I need Planning Permission for the work?
A: A scheme within the roof lines (i.e. Velux windows) does not require planning consent although building regulation approval will be needed. Loft Wizard will deal with this on your behalf. A dormer conversion may require planning permission and we will advise you of the requirements during our initial visit.
Q: Will I need to arrange Building Regulation approval?
A: We will complete all necessary paperwork for you and our quote will include the relevant fees under the Building Regulation Act (2000) for both regulators and architect.
Q: How can I be sure of the quality of your work?
A: We can arrange for you to visit our completed works so that you can see the quality of our work and of course by speaking to the home-owner who can advise you how our work was carried out.
Q: Are you authorised to deal with the new electrical regulations I have heard about?
A: Yes - our electrical work is carried out under Part P of the new Building Regulations (2005)
Q: Do I get anything at the end of the work to prove that the conversion was done to the right standard?
A: Yes - the building regulator will supply you with a Completion Certificate which shows that all of our work was carried out to current building regulations. It is important that you keep this certificate in a safe place as it maybe needed for any future sale of the property
